Fernanda Santos is managing editor of The 19th. She has been a staff writer at The New York Times, contributing columnist at The Washington Post and contributor to The New York Times Magazine, The Atlantic and other publications in the United States and Brazil. She’s a co-writer of the Off Broadway musical ¡Americano!, author of The Fire Line and, in her spare time, a longboard surfer.
