Some pairs are a match made in fashion heaven. Later this summer, Sofia Coppola will debut her next documentary project, Marc by Sofia, at the 2025 Venice Film Festival in a non-competition slot. The film will offer an in-depth look at the designer’s life and impact on American fashion, as observed by his longtime friend and collaborator.

From July 15 to September 17, Louis Vuitton is staging an extensive exhibition at the Nakanoshima Museum of Art in Osaka, coinciding with the World Expo. Titled “Visionary Journeys,” the immersive experience spans 12 thematic chapters of the French house, featuring archival footage, campaigns, luggage, and an exploration of the brand’s longstanding history with Japan. Jewelry and handbag designer Alexis Bittar and Oscar-winning producer Bruce Cohen have joined forces to debut Reclaim the Flag, a provocative new documentary now streaming on YouTube. The film explores the evolving meaning of the American flag in today’s political climate, featuring candid interviews with voices from across media, fashion, and entertainment. Lena Waithe, Isaac Mizrahi, George Takei, Kelly Marie Tran, King Princess, Jenna Lyons, and Gus Kenworthy are just some of the recognizable names who share their perspectives in the film. Roger Vivier, in collaboration with longtime partner Lesage, has unveiled an extension of its fall 2025 collection, showcasing exclusive one-of-a-kind designs. For “Pièce Unique,” the Vivier team was granted unprecedented access to the embroiderer’s archives to create these singular offerings. The central motif, the rose, graces eight bags and two vests, brought to life through delicate embroideries crafted from muslin, silk, beads, and semiprecious stones.

Following a semi-final presentation in March, LVMH has officially announced the industry names who will comprise its final jury overseeing the coveted LVMH Prize. Sarah Burton, creative director at Givenchy, will join for the first time, alongside Jonathan Anderson, Marc Jacobs, and more. The eight semi-finalists—Alainpaul, All-In, Francesco Murano, Soshiotsuki, Steve O Smith, Tolu Coker, Torishéju, and Zomer—will present on September 3 in hopes of securing the €400,000 cash prize.

While Jonathan Anderson heads up both menswear and womenswear at Dior, his eponymous label is taking a break from the runway. That doesn’t mean it won’t ever return—it’s just up to something new. With the debut of the spring 2026 collection, the Northern Irish designer has announced that he will be stocking hand-curated, exquisitely crafted items, including refurbished Charles Rennie Mackintosh lamps and stools, Lucie Rie mugs, and Houghton Hall Estate honey.

Jordan Roth is introducing a bold new kind of exhibition to Paris’s most iconic museum. Titled “Radical Acts of Unrelenting Beauty,” the immersive showcase fuses performance art, fashion, and theater—all unfolding within the groundbreaking haute couture exhibition, “Louvre Couture.” The experience will close out couture week on July 10 with a 30-minute performance staged three times in succession, with brief intermissions. The white whale of collectible bags is up for sale. On July 10, Sotheby’s will auction Jane Birkin’s original Birkin bag. The design was initially created due to a chance encounter on a flight between Birkin and Jean-Louis Dumas, the then-artistic director of Hermès, transforming handbags forever. The Birkin is scheduled as Lot 8 and bidding will begin at approximately 10:10 A.M. ET. You can watch the live auction here.

This year’s Festival Cinéma Paradiso Louvre kicked off with a screening of The Virgin Suicides by Sofia Coppola and will be followed by In the Mood for Love by Wong Kar-Wai, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me by David Lynch, and The Secret Agent by Kleber Mendonça Filho.
