Hours after a video surfaced of Kylie Jenner hugging Timothée Chalamet’s sister, Pauline, after Coperni’s fashion week show, a source spoke to People about how close the private couple is with each other’s families.

Jenner and Chalamet are far from being in a casual fling these days, the source said: “It’s very serious, but also a fun relationship.” The insider added, “He’s close with her family, and she’s close with his family.” They are generally a “great couple,” and “everyone loves them together.”

They are also long distance, as Chalamet is working in New York City on the film Marty Supreme and Jenner is in Los Angeles with her children, Stormi and Aire.

Still, they are making it work: “They’ve really been able to figure out a good balance between working and spending quality time together,” the source said. “He’s involved with her kids and appreciates that they will always be her priority.”

A source spoke to People and Us Weekly in July about how Chalamet and Jenner handle being long distance. Chalamet started the year shooting a different project, the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown, in the New York area, too.

People’s source shared at the time, “Things are great with Timothée. Kylie is happy. They are both busy, but making time to see each other, especially on the weekends. He’s been working in NYC. She’s visited him, and he’s also been back to L.A. some weekends. They’re making it work.”

And Us Weekly’s insider revealed then, “Kylie and Timothée definitely still have a connection, and they really like each other and care about each other a lot. They enjoy the chemistry they have with each other. They’re taking each day as it comes and just having fun.”
