Kate Middleton is back at work, weeks after she shared the news that she has completed her chemotherapy. The Princess of Wales joined her husband, Prince William, to meet with members of the Emergency Services today while visiting Southport Community Centre in Southport, England.
The royal couple showed their support to the community after three children died and eight were injured in July after a mass stabbing at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class. William and Kate wrote on Instagram of the visit, “We continue to stand with everyone in Southport. Meeting the community today has been a powerful reminder of the importance of supporting one another in the wake of unimaginable tragedy. You will remain in our thoughts and prayers.”
Kate and William coordinated in maroon outfits. The princess wore a chocolate-brown coat that went down to her knees, paired with a polka dot dress and heels.
This is Kate’s second appearance since sharing an update on her cancer treatment this fall. She and William met with a young photographer and her family at Windsor Castle one week ago. Kate wore a maroon suit then as well.
“A pleasure to meet with Liz at Windsor today,” she and William shared in an October 2 Instagram. “A talented young photographer whose creativity and strength has inspired us both. Thank you for sharing your photos and story with us. ❤️”
Kate revealed on September 9 that she would slowly be returning to work after finishing chemotherapy. “Doing what I can to stay cancer-free is now my focus,” she shared. “Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes. I am however looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can. Despite all that has gone before I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life.”
