On March 11, Millie Bobby Brown wore five ’90s-inspired looks in one day for the New York City stop of her The Electric State press tour. The 21-year-old actress switched between glamorous, edgy, and sophisticated ensembles.
Brown began her day in a black-and-white spotted Versace two-piece for her appearance on The Today Show. The ensemble featured a fitted jacket with leather detailing and a matching miniskirt. She accessorized with a black beret, cropped coat, sheer tights, and Larroudé platform pumps.
Brown then changed for her appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show. She wore a feather-trimmed jacket and matching cream miniskirt. Black sunglasses, sheer tights, and white pumps finished the look.
During the show, Brown told Barrymore that her outfit was inspired by Barrymore’s character, Josie “Grossie” Geller, from Never Been Kissed. “I’m channeling a little bit of you,” Brown revealed.
Later, Brown wore a colorful Paco Rabanne halter dress on The Tonight Show. The piece featured a gradient of warm hues. She accessorized with hoop earrings and a pair of silver heels.
In the evening, the Stranger Things star arrived on the red carpet of a The Electric State fan screening in a strapless black gown. The Tamara Ralph couture design featured intricate three-dimensional flowers in rose gold hues extending across the bodice and neckline.
Brown’s final look of the day was a sheer black lace gown. It had a plunging neckline and a fur-trimmed collar and cuffs. She walked hand-in-hand with her husband, Jake Bongiovi, who wore a Louis Vuitton denim jacket and wide-leg jeans.
Brown’s fashion choices throughout The Electric State press tour have paid homage to the ’90s for good reason.
“The Electric State is based in the ’90s. So I was like, ‘I want everything I wear on this press tour to be ’90s archive,’” she recently said on the Call Her Daddy podcast. “So I was like, ‘Who are the major blondes in the ’90s?’ And I was like, ‘Okay, Pammy.’”
She incorporated archival pieces into her press tour wardrobe, even wearing vintage clothing given to her by Pamela Anderson. “She [Anderson] was like, ‘Oh, let me just look in my closet and I’ll pull some stuff for you,’” Brown said. “And she pulled me a whole rack of clothes that were just unbelievable. These dresses are timeless and ridiculous.”
