Last night, Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco enjoyed dinner with friends at New York City’s 4 Charles Prime Rib. The couple arrived holding hands—and showed off their different date-night outfits. Gomez was minimalist in a monochromatic look, pairing a black top and blazer with matching slacks. Blanco, meanwhile, was more maximalist in a white embroidered top with tan cow-print pants. In just a few days, the two will be releasing their first joint album, I Said I Love You First.
The couple spoke to Rolling Stone earlier this week about what they love most about each other. “Her heart and the way she treats everybody,” Blanco said of Gomez. “Her best friend, she treats the same way as someone she’s holding the door open for or walking down the street. She has one of the kindest hearts I’ve ever met in my entire life. OK, I’m done. You better say something good.”
His fiancée quipped, “I was like, ‘Damn it, I should have gone first.’” Then she said of Blanco, “But genuinely, I think he’s incredibly kind, he’s supportive, he’s uplifting, he’s very, very smart. I love picking his brain about everything. He’s one of my best friends, if not my best.”
Blanco said that they have a surprisingly relatable life for two celebrities. “I think people think we’re like, this thing in Rolls-Royces, and like going around,” he began, adding that in reality, “We literally play like N64 and order Dominos. We’re just living our life every day. There’s not this whole elaborate thing. I think we’re very lucky to be surrounded by such great people, and we’ve still just been enjoying so much. It feels like we got engaged yesterday, but also feels like we got engaged 20 years ago. I’ve known her since she was 18, and so it’s like, we got all that stuff out of the way. By the time we’re dating, it’s like, whoa. My biggest regret is that we didn’t get to do this earlier, like we waited this long to be together. But I know it was perfect, and it was right.”
