Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are happily engaged but not racing to the altar. On April 10, a source told Entertainment Tonight that while Gomez has “never been happier,” she and Blanco are taking their time planning the wedding of their dreams.

The source explained, “Selena and Benny are loving all the feedback on their new album [I Said I Love You First]. They’re focused on its success. They haven’t gotten into the thick of wedding planning yet. Selena isn’t rushing into anything.”

The source’s comments are consistent with what Gomez and Blanco have personally revealed about their wedding. Here’s everything the couple has shared so far about their upcoming nuptials. (They announced their engagement in December 2024.)

As of July 2024, they still haven’t begun planning, Blanco said.

In January 2025, they hadn’t decided on whether they’d do a destination wedding.

Interview magazine asked the couple what their thoughts were on having a destination wedding. Gomez responded, “Honestly, we haven’t even gotten that far. We want to be so happy right now in this moment. But I don’t know. That might be hard for family.”

In March 2025, Blanco revealed that Gomez’s ideas for their wedding were changing daily.

During an interview with Rolling Stone, Blanco revealed the couple hasn’t made any decisions about what their actual wedding day will look like. But Gomez has an active imagination, he noted: “I think every day she’s planned a new wedding in her head. We’re very much ‘take it one day at a time’-type of people. We’re still not over this moment. Literally, while you were talking, she was sitting there staring at her ring.”

Gomez added, “Also, I genuinely feel like this is such a special time that we get to apply it to this album and really just pour our heart into it, and completely translate what we feel and bring it to the world. That’s my main focus right now, at least.”

They will be dancing the hora at their wedding.

In early January 2025, Blanco, who is Jewish, confirmed in the couple’s Interview profile that “of course we will” dance the hora during their wedding. Gomez is not converting to Judaism though. “I don’t think I’ll be doing that,” she said when asked. “Not that it’s bad.”

Blanco added, “No. We want our kids to have both of our values, both of our morals, and hopefully when we mix them up in a pot they’ll—”

“Turn out good,” Gomez finished.

Blanco and Gomez are enjoying their engagement.

Blanco and Gomez are not in a rush to tie the knot for good reason: They are happy to be where they are. “It feels like we got engaged yesterday, but also feels like we got engaged 20 years ago,” Blanco told Rolling Stone. “I’ve known her since she was 18, and so it’s like we got all that stuff out of the way. By the time we’re dating, it’s like, whoa. My biggest regret is that we didn’t get to do this earlier, like we waited this long to be together. But I know it was perfect and it was right.”

Gomez explained that filming Only Murders in the Building might delay wedding planning.

During Blanco and Gomez’s appearance on On Purpose With Jay Shetty in March 2025, they were asked about the status of their wedding plans. “We have not even begun,” Gomez said. “Because I think for right now, there’s just so much going on. I have to go and shoot a series [Only Murders in the Building] for a while. And I don’t know, we’ll just see. We’re not in any rush. And I’m excited to see what happens.”

Blanco added, “I’m just happy she says yes. I don’t even care about the next step. No, but...we’ve been doing so much stuff. We haven’t even gotten to really just like bask in the glory. So it’s like, I think we're looking forward to doing that in New York a little bit.”

The couple discussed how they will use both of their strengths to plan the big day.

Gomez and Blanco spoke about how they’ll work together to plan their nuptials. “He’s very good at organizing and planning,” she said during On Purpose With Jay Shetty. “And I’m very visual. So I’m like, ‘This is what I like and this and this.’ And then he figures out how to [make it happen].”

Blanco added, “She’s already told me the types of things she likes and wants for a wedding.”

Gomez said they won’t have a first dance as a couple at the wedding.

Gomez and Blanco are skipping out on their first dance as husband and wife. The singer revealed their plans on the April 30 episode of Table Manners With Jessie and Lennie Ware podcast when she was asked if they had chosen a song for the big moment. “I don’t think we’re looking at having one of those,” Gomez began. “’Cause they’re a little—”

“She’s shy,” Blanco said, finishing her sentence.

“I feel embarrassed,” she clarified. “I will have a special dance with my papa, who he is my grandfather and he’s my mom’s father. And he never got a chance to walk my mom down the aisle because good for my mom. She decided to go to Vegas and be like, ‘Whoo,’ and she’s still been with [her husband, Brian Teefey] ever since they were like 26. So it’s very cute that they did that, but I wanted to give him an opportunity to have that.”

Ed Sheeran hinted wedding invitations had gone out in May 2025.

Sheeran did Vanity Fair’s lie detector test and confirmed he had been invited to Gomez and Blanco’s wedding. He did not reveal any more details about date or other guests.

In July 2025, Blanco revealed he and Gomez still haven’t started planning their wedding yet.

During his appearance on Jake Shane’s Therapuss, Blanco said that their busy schedules have gotten in the way of them planning their wedding. “That’s why we both need to chill,” he said. “We’ve both been working so much. We got engaged, and then we were filming music videos for our album [I Said I Love You First]... Then it’s holidays, then right after the holidays, we had to start all the promo for our stuff, do that. Then she left to film her show Only Murders [in the Building] and then I met her, then we hung out for a week, and then right after that, it’s promo. And then I’m writing another book, so then I had to write a book, and then she came back for one day here. And then it was my birthday, and you know.... We’re both working on so many things that we hadn’t even had time to get into it, but we’re so excited. I think this summer we’re going to sit down and be like, ‘Okay, what are we doing, hun?’”
