Spoilers for Never Have I Ever ahead.
Never Have I Ever, a Netflix series from Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher, follows the life of 15-year-old Devi Vishwakumar (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan). She's a first-generation Indian-American teen exploring her sexuality and friendships while also coping with the sudden death of her father (Sendhil Ramamurthy).
The halls of her Southern California high school are also filled with emotional landmines. While her friends Eleanor (Ramona Young) and Fabiola (Lee Rodriguez) provide much-needed support, a potential move to India threatens their bond. And as a way of navigating her angst, Devi becomes convinced she has to live out her high school dream to lose her virginity to the popular Paxton (Darren Barnet) and get a boyfriend or two.
After the show's big debut in 2020, Never Have I Ever became one of Netflix's leading shows of the year. Being one of the top series in the world, Netflix renewed the dramedy for season two, which is already making headway for the streaming service #1 spot. But like Netflix's other latest entry into the teen genre, Outer Banks, the actors playing teens are a little older than their on-screen counterparts. Ahead, a guide to the real ages of the actors leading Netflix's Never Have I Ever, and where you can see their past work.
Maitreyi Ramakrishnan as Devi Vishwakumar
Age: 19
The actress who plays Devi is only a few years older than her onscreen counterpart. It's the first onscreen role for Ramakrishnan, who beat out 15,000 other performers for the role, following an April 2019 casting call on Kaling's Instagram.
Ramona Young as Eleanor Wong
Age: 23
Young is the oldest actor in Devi's friend group. She previously appeared in the 2018 comedy Blockers, Netflix zombie series Santa Clarita Diet, and The CW superhero show, DC's Legends of Tomorrow.
Lee Rodriguez as Fabiola Torres
Age: 21
Rodriguez portrays Fabiola, the kind of friend who reminds Devi, "I left a funeral to be by your side after Nick Jonas married an Indian woman that wasn't you." You may recognize her from roles in Grown-ish and the Snap Original series Class of Lies.
Darren Barnet as Paxton Hall-Yoshida
Age: 30
Barnet has by far the biggest age difference, as he's more than a decade older than his high school junior character. He's appeared on several network TV shows, including Criminal Minds, S.W.A.T., and This Is Us.
Jaren Lewison as Ben Gross
Age: 20
Lewison is about four years older than Ben, Devi's sometimes-nemesis and one-third of her onscreen love triangle. As a kid, Lewison co-starred in episodes of Barney & Friends and has since earned roles in Jason Reitman's Men, Women & Children and the 2018 comedy Tag.
Megan Suri as Aneesa
Age: 22
Megan Suri is new to the Never Have I Ever crew. Megan Suri plays the new Indian-American girl–Devi "2.0"– in season 2, who leaves her mark as she dates Ben, Devi's nemesis-turned-ex. Suri is known for her role as Simryn on ABC's Fresh Off The Boat and Quinn on Netflix's Atypical.
