Alan Cumming and the producers of The Traitors officially deserve a kiss, because their picks for the season 3 Traitors are sublime.

The Emmy Award-winning competition show returns with a new cast of reality television stars vying for a $250,000 prize, all going head-to-head in the Scottish Highlands. The cast is divided into two groups, Faithfuls and Traitors. The Traitors know one another’s identities and move in the shadows, slowly “killing” the Faithful, and the Faithful are on a journey to figure out who the Traitors are, banishing a fellow cast member each week. Basically, it’s a giant game of mafia, one full of twists and turns throughout.

The second season of The Traitors broke records for Peacock, becoming the number one unscripted series in the U.S. across streamers. The season 2 premiere was also up 75 percent in viewership compared to season 1.

In this week’s drop, three episodes spelled out who our first Traitors are: Big Brother strategist Danielle Reyes, Survivor fan-favorite Carolyn Wiger, Drag Race winner Bob the Drag Queen, and, after a twist that initially excluded him from the lineup, Survivor legend Rob Mariano.

The members of the lethal foursome all have unique personalities, sure to make what is already looking like a dysfunctional group. In the first few episodes alone, the Traitors’ turret, where the villains make their kills, had some spice, with growing tensions between Reyes and Wiger. Below, we break down the four Traitors and what it will take for each of them to outsmart the Faithfuls.

Bob the Drag Queen

The Drag Race season 8 winner is known for speaking her mind, and after proving that she’s a bonafide reality star, Bob the Drag Queen’s hunger to go on a treacherous killing spree makes her an excellent selection. Following success on Drag Race, Bob went on to star in HBO’s We’re Here, has hosted a few seasons of the Drag Race recap show The Pit Stop, and is set to go on a world tour this coming year. Bob is also close friends with Peppermint, who was the first banished player on the second season of The Traitors, and notably called out other contestants for othering her throughout banishment. Bob likely has gotten tips from Peppermint on how to deal with the big personalities of The Traitors’ castle.

Known for her big personality, Bob already stands out as a leader after the first few episodes. Stirring up trouble in the turret, she’s also begun feuding with her other Traitors (flaming Mariano’s fashion sense from the get go). That said, she’s made it clear that she wanted to backstab and be as traitorous as humanly possible. If she can use her personality to her advantage, Bob may be able to sashay her way to the top.

Rob Mariano

Many fans would put “Boston Rob” Mariano on their Survivor Mount Rushmore. Having played four seasons of the CBS show, the legend was held in such high esteem that he was brought back as a mentor on Survivor: Island of the Idols. He’s known for his cutthroat and masterful gameplay, and Mariano completely ruled Survivor: Redemption Island, where he pulled out a win.

Mariano starts The Traitors in a precarious position. Presented as the first “twist” of the season, players are given the choice to let him in the game or exile him. If any player chooses to let Mariano into the castle, they then get to exile someone else. No one wanted to let the villain in, so Mariano was sent to the woods. At the end of the first episode, after the other three Traitors already made their first kill, it’s revealed that Mariano is not out of the game yet. He joins in episode 2 as a Traitor (two other contestants are also put into the game, but both of them are Faithfuls).

With one of the biggest reputations of the season, Mariano has a big hurdle to jump over if he hopes to win. He’s also joining the turret as an addition, with Wiger and Bob both resenting him from the start. Reyes, on the other hand, is glad Mariano is working with her and not against her. She better watch out, however, as Mariano already seems to spot Reyes as a possible liability. Time will tell if Mariano can bring the W back to Boston.

Danielle Reyes

In her two seasons of Big Brother, Reyes was known for her whip-smart strategic chops and villainous vices. The star is known by many as “the best Big Brother player to never win,” which brings to mind The Traitors season 1 winner Cirie Fields, who has a similar reputation in Survivor. It is thought that one of the reasons Reyes lost the third season of Big Brother was because the jury was not sequestered, meaning they all heard her often snarky confessionals. Following the season, Big Brother changed the rules: Jury members would no longer be able to watch the telecast and were stuck in a house until the final vote, changing the game forever. Reyes then returned for Big Brother 7, an all-stars season, where she placed seventh.

In the first few The Traitors episodes, Reyes already has a flair for the dramatic, a cornerstone of her strategy from her Big Brother days. This immediately raises some flags for other competitors, including fellow Traitors Mariano and Wiger. If she refines her acting skills and relies on her mind to take out the Faithful, Reyes could easily take the crown and become queen of the castle.

Carolyn Wiger

On Survivor 44, Wiger made it to the end of the game as part of the “Tika Three,” a minority alliance that battled its way through and eventually came out on top. Her ally, Yamil “Yam Yam” Arocho, won the season. Wiger placed third, but was a clear fan favorite due to her eccentric and emotional gameplay. Many have been asking for another Survivor season with the self-described “weirdo,” loving her heart-on-her-sleeve approach.

Wiger is not the most strategic and often lets her emotions rule, but she can play a game of chess when needed. Right away in the turret, Wiger and Reyes have animosity. Wiger is ready to make a more impulsive move with the first kill, whereas Reyes is keen on thinking five steps ahead. If Wiger continues to make bombastic plays, it’s possible she will be banished, with her fellow Traitors turning on her. But, if Wiger can embrace a forward thinking mentality, the reality star could possibly fly under the radar as the most unexpected Traitor in the history of the show.
