Perverts by Ethel Cain
Courtesy of Ethel CainEthel Cain’s new LP Perverts is a distinct departure from Preacher’s Daughter, the album that put her on the map. That’s the point, too. Released on January 8, Cain’s ambient new record is at times terrifying, using white noise or silence at times to induce anxiety. It’s a haunted house-style project that works. The listener is always left guessing, making this experimental and out-of-the-box project an emotional and effective addition to Cain’s portfolio.
