This season marked the 40th anniversary of London Fashion Week, as established by the British Fashion Council in February 1984. While it was a season to celebrate and reflect on the storied history of British fashion, it's clear there was very little looking back as designers worked to usher in the newest looks for Fall-Winter 2024. From fan favorites like Simone Rocha, JW Anderson, and Molly Goddard, to avant-garde up & comers Dilara Findikoglu and Chopova Lowena, and, of course, heritage stalwart Burberry, London designers were all about inventing new takes on classic silhouettes & luxurious materials. Here is a look at five of the biggest trends to hit the London catwalks, from fabulous furs and dramatic trains, to the hippest accessories & the It color of the season (hot tip: it's green!).
FUR SURE
Move over puffer jackets - From full coats to cozy collars, fur is officially the new winter mainstay. Here, Burberry heads up the charge with a chic toggle-clasp number.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Maybe it's the British affinity for period pieces or the inescapable influence of corset queen Vivienne Westwood, but London always delivers a cheeky bit of history with a twist. Be it lacy layers at Yuhan Wang, pictured, or sheer sheaths at Simone Rocha and Dilara Findikoglu.

GREEN LIGHT
Foggy London skies couldn't keep out dreams of greener pastures - From moss to mint, green was the color of the season. Erdem opened their show on a verdant note, with a matching coat & skirt in a dreamy soft shade.

Cue the dramatic exit! Nothing suits a runway quite like the sweep of a train. David Koma had them trailing from minis, while others cascaded them from the shoulders. In all its iterations, the train reigned supreme.

Last but not least, the hippest accessory of the season? The low-slung belt. Over skirts, dresses, and jackets alike, London was all about the dropped waist. Here, Tolu Coker's take sits atop a demure pleated midi.
