Two massive, interlocking Cs served as the seating for Chanel’s spring 2025 haute couture show today at the Grand Palais, hinting at a collection based on house signatures. The show was preceded by a short documentary—directed by Thierry Demaizière and Alban Teurlai in honor of 110 years of Chanel couture—in which Chanel favorites like Naomi Campbell and Marion Cotillard attest to the form’s status as a work of art amid behind-the-scenes footage of the petites mains crafting the collection. The cast of characters at 31 rue Cambon, usually supporting players, were the stars of this particular show.

Spotlighting them makes sense: Given that new artistic director Matthieu Blazy will be taking on his post in the spring, the atelier and design team were the focus today. With Jennie Kim and Kylie Jenner seated front row, the house presented a collection based on the idea of “infinite movement.”

The looks progressed from day to night, with the top half of the circadian cycle represented by sparkling, embellished takes on the maison’s staple tweed suits, which came in ultra-pale pastels. Light-as-air feather embellishments and ethereal sheer elements added to the frothy feel, and the coquettish bow motifs would surely be Gracie Abrams-approved (the singer is an ambassador for the house.) Signature cap-toed heels in coordinating colors completed the looks.

The eveningwear portion was represented by vibrant pieces like a dramatic sky-blue cape and a coat lined in sunshine yellow, fit for a 1930s movie star. No doubt we’ll be seeing some of them again on the red carpet come Oscar night.
