In a case of life imitating art, Maria Grazia Chiuri drew references from literature for her ethereal AW25 runway, re-enlivening Victorian fashion with a modern spin, from the tailcoats and sheer tulle to the return of the iconic 'J'adore Dior' t-shirt.

The sense of individuality that the collection proffered formed the beauty inspiration backstage too. Glossy, glass skin references that often monopolise fashion shows were replaced with a softer, smoother finish and natural skin and lips, accentuated with a touch of Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil, which were blotted to reduce shine.
'For the Dior beauty show, we went for a pure, but strong look. We wanted to glorify each model's individuality,' explains Peter Philips, the Creative and Image Director for Dior. 'Luminous skin was the starting point without any highlighters or contours, while eyebrows were slightly brushed.'
'I prepped the skin using the Dior Capture Le Sérum and Dior Capture Totale Hyalushot in the eye area. Next, I evened out the complexion with Dior Forever Skin Perfect followed by Dior Forever Skin Correct for touch ups,' he shares.
The focal point, however, centred on a 'reverse' eyeliner. 'Black khôl liner was added in the inner corner of the eyes to create depth and intensity, created with the Diorshow On Stage Crayon 099 Black,' notes Philips.
Lastly, models' hair featured an extreme side parting and wispy bangs, which were created by hairstylist, Guido Palau, and reflected the nostalgia running throughout the collection and make-up. 'The loosely tied lengths gathered low at the nape into a ponytail, with a few free strands escaping,' adds Palau.
