TikTok is never one to let us down when it comes to the buzziest of trends and most recently, BeautyTok has presented us with the 'butterfly haircut'. Not sold? Well, you will be once you see Jennifer Lopez rocking the look.

In a recent Instagram reel posted by the promo account for her upcoming movie, Shotgun Wedding, Jen talks all things 'wedding', 'romance' and 'hairspray used as a weapon'-related alongside co-star Josh Duhamel to mark the one-month countdown until its release.

As excited as we are to watch the hit (I mean, it's not even landed on our screens yet and we know it's going to be big), what excites us even more at this moment is the new hair look Jennifer debuted in the video. But enough of my chatter, let's get to the reveal below:

As we can see, at the time of filming, Jennifer's hair sits at chest length and has been styled in bouncy curls. But what makes this a 'butterfly' cut are the choppy layers. If you're an eagle-eyed viewer (like me), you would've spotted her shorter strands of shoulder-length hair.

Now, as ever, it has to be acknowledged that with these professional celebrity shoots, production tends to have them planned, filmed and scheduled waaaay in advance, so, it's no surprise that the above clip featuring Jen's cut would've been shot a while ago. After all, she did show off an Old Hollywood-inspired 'lob' look just last week – and unless she's been using a magic hair-growth serum, we suspect Jen has switched up her locks since.

Alas, whether J-Lo still has the butterfly cut or not, we know it's going to be a big hitter in 2023 regardless. So, as a word of warning: you might want to get that hair appointments booked in ASAP!
