In spite of our British weather cynicism, spring has arrived with a near uninterrupted string of sunny days, and in turn, the desire to go blonder and blonder has already begun to creep in. Whether you're a natural sunkissed gold or keeping up a faux bleached shade, there's no denying the maintenance behind upholding a glossy blonde hair colour. The biggest challenge, however, is deciphering the exact tone you want once the seasons begin to shift.
'My running theme for spring 2025 is healthy, glossy and "expensive" looking hair,' says blonde specialist Zebulen Howell. 'It's bright but lived-in and can carry you through the year. I love utilising my clients' natural hair and playing around with tones to customise to their skin tone so they feel balanced but beautiful.'
Here, Howell and fellow blonde expert Harriet Muldoon of Larry King's Kensington hotspot outline their top five blonde hair colour trends to know for spring, including exactly what to ask your hairdresser for.

5 Blonde Hair Colours To Add To Your Spring Moodboard
Teddy Bear Blonde
'Teddy bear blonde' is by far the most coveted blonde shade of the season, as expert colourist, Zebulen Howell, (and TikTok) will concur.
'For this look, fine scattered highlights add dimension in a subtle way,' he says. 'Then I tone it back with a beautiful "light biscuit beige" gloss to add shine, keeping it slightly cooler toned with a hint of warmth peeking through.'
Bondi Blonde
If you're looking to channel your inner surfer girl, get beach-ready, or simply opt for a more dimensional face-framing hue, this illuminating colour pattern is perfect. Not to mention, it's totally fresh for spring.
'One of my favourite shades is my signature lived-in beach blonde that can carry you through from spring to summer,' Howell says. 'It plays with vanilla and creamy tones using a face frame that brightens all the way around the face, keeping dimension at the roots but with a glossy finish for that "expensive" result.'
Phoenix Blonde
While last year's copper craze may be firmly in the rearview, warmer tones are staying at the forefront when it comes to blondes. 'The key is a blend of subtle honey and fiery shades,' says Larry King's blonde specialist, Harriet Muldoon.
'This is similar to toffee blonde where you’re on the border of being a brunette,' she explains. 'It’s got a lot of richness and depth to it; think a mixture of golden tones with copper. I would say it’s a warm fiery blonde for the summer. In terms of technique, you lift the blonde highlights to more of a yellow base. I like to look for a banana kind of golden tone. And then layer it with the golden/copper tones on top. That way it’s got dimension and fire.'
Metal Beige Blonde
For fans of a cool tone, a subtle approach to spring's warming blondes trend might be necessary. For Muldoon, this comes in the form of 'metal beige', which requires a meticulous expert hand to combine frosty ash tones with soft gilded hues.
'A combination of cool and warm tones, this is the super blondes and scalp bleaches,' she says. 'If you look at Paris Jackson’s hair, this is a great example. You lift it to the palest yellow possible and then add a golden, beige and ashy base to it.'
Caramel Bronde
Although heartbreaking, sometimes stepping away from scalp bleaches is necessary for hair health. However, that doesn't always require a 180-degree switch to the darker side. Allow us to introduce the perfect blonde-brunette middle ground: caramel bronde.
'This utilises your own natural hair for depth, highlighting to brighten and contour in all the right areas,' says Howell. 'It requires a fine face frame and balayage on the ends, then a gloss to tone it all back to a darker, more golden blonde. It's super low maintenance but a high impact look for spring.'
