Last night's Met Gala was full of surprises. Rihanna revealed that she's expecting baby number three (in head-to-toe Marc Jacobs, no less), Taylor and Travis were a no-show despite predictions saying otherwise, and Kamala Harris made her Met debut in Off-White.

But for eagle-eyed beauty observers, it was the hair that delivered some of the most memorable talking points. Given that the Met Gala is one of the most important events in the social calendar, celebrities also take it as a chance to experiment with a new style. Last night, Pamela Anderson unveiled a short, chin-length bob complete with a micro fringe reminiscent of 1920s flapper performers. The chop is a dramatic departure from the longer, layered hair and wispy bangs she's been sporting in recent years.
Styled in soft waves with gently flicked-out ends, her buttery blonde bob not only feels incredibly chic and fresh for the new season, it also perfectly complements the demure silhouette of her Tory Burch gown, with its long sleeves and high neck. There is, of course, a chance that Anderson is switching up her look with a clever wig, but we're hopeful that Anderson is embracing her bob era. Who knows, perhaps a graduated bob or a '90s bob is on the cards for the The Last Showgirl star.
Proving that the popularity of short hair continues to rise, Nicole Kidman has also traded her longer lengths for a dramatic cut. The actor made her Met Gala appearance in a sleek pixie crop created by longtime hairstylist Adir Abergel.
'The inspiration was a tailored short cut that brought out the essence of Dandyism on Nicole Kidman,' Abergel shared on Instagram. 'I wanted to celebrate this year's theme by honoring the Dandies and their individuality, elegance, and confidence—where every detail is tailored to that unique person.'
Abergel styled Kidman's hair with plenty of volume along the crown along with a side-swept face-framing piece that lends a modern edge. Extremely short crops - be it a choppy pixie cut or a pixie cut with bangs - are a breakout trend of this year, and we're pleased to see Kidman fearlessly embracing the look. If you've been looking for a sign to get the chop, perhaps this is it.
