The British Fashion Council (BFC) has announced the launch of a new membership programme.
The not-for-profit organisation - responsible for London Fashion Week and integral to bolstering the strength, ingenuity and creativity of the British fashion industry - already supports young, up-and-coming and established designers in a number of ways.
Their NEWGEN initiative, for example, gives a handpicked selection of the UK's most promising talent a helping hand, in the form of financial support, mentoring sessions and opportunities to showcase their work.

Their Education Foundation promotes excellence in design by financially supporting students with the ability and potential to make a real contribution to the fashion industry.
And the BFC's annual Fashion Awards, which take place in December, is a celebration of Britain's finest talent and recognition of the year's greatest achievements.
But now, the BFC is adding yet another string to its bow, with the launch of a membership programme for British designers, with relatively wide eligibility.
What is it?
An annual subscription which links you up with a wide network of other British designers. You'll be given access to a private portal full of relevant industry news, government updates and important insights, as well as the chance to attend business development seminars, workshops and fashion industry events.
As well as the opportunity to grow your own business, there's also the chance to give back, by joining designer round tables and offering up your mentoring skills.
Who can join?
Well, you have to be a designer, with a brand that trades in Britain and a company that's registered with the UK's Companies House.
But beyond that, the stipulations are relatively few and allow for designers of all levels and stages of business growth.
As long as you've been trading for two years and your fashion line comprises of ready-to-wear or accessories (rather than bridal or childrenswear) then you're likely eligible to join.
Plus, members fees are calculated proportionally to your business' turnover, which makes things easier.
How do I join?
