Hours after giving birth to her third child (a baby boy), Kate Middleton has stepped out as a proud new mum on the steps of the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital.

For her first public outing since giving birth to a healthy baby boy, the 36-year-old wore a Jenny Packham dress.

Similar to her first two births, the Duchess of Cambridge wore her brown hair loose and sported minimal make-up, showing off her natural post-baby glow as she stood alongside her husband, Prince William.

The pair posed for photos and said hello to the waiting public, before stowing the new baby boy safely into a carseat and setting off for home.

Of course, this isn't the first time the royal has chosen Packham as her go-to post-baby brand to wear.

Following the birth of Princess Charlotte in 2015, the Duchess wore a buttercup print yellow silk shift dress, which perfectly captured the mood of the princess' spring birth.

Two years before, Kate – who has scored 10/10 for her pregnancy wardrobe in recent months – sported a pale blue dress with white polka dots by the British fashion designer.

Many royal fans believed the choice of blue dress to be a nod to the late Princess Diana who was photographed in a similar turquoise design clutching a newborn Prince William in 1982.

On spotting the Duchess' post-pregnancy outfit, Twitter couldn't help but gush about the new mum's choice of dress for the occasion:

The Duchess of Cambridge was taken by car before 6am this morning to the private Lindo wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London.

In a statement, Kensington Palace revealed: 'Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was admitted to St Mary's Hospital, Paddington, London, earlier this morning in the early stages of labour.

'The Duchess travelled by car from Kensington Palace to the Lindo Wing at St. Mary's Hospital with The Duke of Cambridge.'

Congratulations, Kate and William!
