Call us boring, but when it comes to dressing for a formal occasion, we wholeheartedly believe you can never go wrong with a chic LBD.
So, it came as no surprise on Saturday evening when we spotted Meghan Markle sporting a Stella McCartney tie-detail coat (similar available here), over a black off-the-shoulder sheath dress by Roland Mouret to the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday.
The event - which was the first Remembrance service attended by Markle since she joined the royal family earlier this year - saw the pregnant star team the look with a Stella McCartney shaggy deer faux leather crossbody bag, her favourite Manolo Blahnik black suede BB pumps, and earrings by Zofia Day.
Markle first wore the coat - which featured an oversized bow belt that perfectly concealed her growing baby bump - during her visit to Cardiff, Wales in January.
On Sunday, the former actress was seen attending her first Remembrance Sunday service at The Cenotaph. Standing next to the German president's wife, Elke Büdenbender, the pair paid tribute to the contribution of British and Commonwealth military and civilian servicemen and women involved in conflict.
For the occasion, the 37-year-old wore a smart black ensemble which is widely believed to have consisted of a coat by Stella McCartney with structured shoulder detail and black buttons, and a pair of Vanesssa Tugenthaft 'Precious' earrings.
Later in the day, the royal changed into a navy peacoat dress with bateau neckline - similar to her Givenchy wedding dress silhouette - accessorised with a velvet fascinator.
The ensemble was reminiscent of the pink Prada look she wore back in June 2018 when she attended the Queen's Young Leaders Awards.
McCartney has become a firm favourite of the duchess' in recent months, after she designed her halter neck wedding dress for her wedding reception at Frogmore House.
In August, the Central St Martins graduate said she was 'honoured' to dress the bride for her big day.
‘I think Meghan chose me for reasons other than just a beautiful dress — plenty of people can do that,' she told ELLE UK. 'She is not a difficult client to make look beautiful.'
