We are big fans of when self-styled fashion star Blake Lively takes dressing cues from one of her most beloved (and well-dressed) on-screen characters - Serena Van Der Woodsen of Gossip Girl.

Case in point, the 34 year-old was spotted out on a day date in New York City this week with husband Ryan Reynolds, wearing a cute autumn ensemble straight out of the Van Der Wooden playbook.

The mother-of-three (of children Inez, James and Betty) layered a tailored, grey overcoat, with a black blazer and cardigan, pairing these with a grey, pleated skirt, pair of tights and boots.

Just yesterday, husband Reynolds spilled the beans to Jimmy Fallon during The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon about his sex life with his wife of nine years.

'Blake's... no personal questions by the way... but Blake is great,' the 45 year-old told Fallon. 'The sex is totally normal.'

But while we love a bit of NSFW tittle-tattle, we're far more interested in what Lively's wearing than what her and Reynolds get up to in the bedroom. Thankfully, the blonde gave her Instagram followers a glimpse into her expansive closet earlier this year.
