If you’ve ever seen a sparklemuffin spider, you might have instantly assumed it was deadly, due to the species’ brightly coloured bodies, which look like they’ve been painted with a rainbow of glitter glues. But in actuality, the venom of these peacock spiders is only strong enough to kill prey like insects and flies, and their colours are meant to dazzle during a dance the male spiders perform when trying to win over a mate. (And if the female spider isn’t successfully wooed, she ends up eating her partner.)

Suki Waterhouse obviously found the concept extremely fitting for her upcoming second studio album, as she titled it Memoir of a Sparklemuffin. 'It’s a metaphor for the dance of life we’re all in,' she said in a promotional statement for the album. 'The title felt hilarious, ridiculous, and wonderful to me.' And not only was the sparklemuffin an apt choice when it came to naming her new LP, Waterhouse’s wardrobe also seems to have been inspired by the peacock spider species.

Ahead of Memoir’s release on September 13, Waterhouse has been embracing all kinds of loud ensembles that have certainly wooed us—and that includes her beach wardrobe.

For her latest fit, shared on Instagram, the English singer, model, and actor chose a raspberry-coloured two-piece swimsuit decorated with dark purple splotches that looked like flowers, or maybe abstract blackberries.

The bikini top was tied in the front with two beaded strings, and Waterhouse accessorised with a thick, chainlike choker in gold from Chanel. She also sported a pair of large golden hoop earrings, and she was rocking her trademark fringe haircut, which had a little bit more wave, possibly due to the water.

The Daisy Jones & the Six star, who recently welcomed a baby girl with partner Robert Pattinson, showed off the look in a summertime slideshow, which saw her enjoying a platter of berries with friends Eva Vik and Sadie Newman, posing in a knit burgundy sweater, and showing off her pile of recent reads, including Liz Phair’s Horror Stories, Elaine Kahn’s Women in Public, and Jackie Wang’s Alien Daughters Walk Into the Sun. In her caption, Waterhouse wrote, 'Not enough time in the world for the amount of berries and books I wish to consume 🍓.'
