'Honestly, it didn’t take too much convincing — it’s something I’ve wanted to do for a while,' Huntington-Whiteley says to ELLE UK of taking on the challenge to sort through her wardrobes in both London and Los Angeles. 'Bringing The King’s Trust and Vestiaire Collective together felt like the perfect alignment. It just made sense to me; The King’s Trust’s mission really resonates — especially the Change a Girl’s Life initiative, which is all about empowering young women and giving them the tools and support to shape their own futures. I’m truly proud to be a part of that.'
Huntington-Whiteley has become lauded for her personal style in recent years, with countless emulating her minimalist aesthetic that spearheaded the ‘quiet luxury’ trend. Her considered approach surely made for the clear out being even more treacherous than most.

‘I already had an idea of the pieces I wanted to select, don’t get me wrong it wasn’t easy, but I have a clear direction,’ she admitted. ‘For me, I like to keep my wardrobe quite streamlined season after season. I’ve always been drawn to classic, timeless pieces and you’ll see in the selection we’ve listed. I’m a believer in investing in high-quality items that you can style time and time again. A great tailored jacket, a well-fitting pair of jeans, a beautiful handbag, and a crisp shirt — you really can’t go wrong.’
Becoming a style icon was never Huntintgon-Whiteley’s intention, but she relishes the accolade. ‘It really is such a lovely compliment,’ she explains. ‘For me, [my personal style] all comes down to clean silhouettes, beautiful tailoring, and muted colours. Of course, personal style evolves with your environment and the roles you’re in. I always try to approach dressing with practicality first — asking myself, “what do I need from my clothes today?”’
Despite keeping a good grip on sorting her wardrobe regularly, there are of course those pieces that’ll never leave and are kept safe ready to one day be passed down to Huntington-Whiteley’s three-year-old daughter, Isabella - especially jewellery. ‘[These] pieces hold so many memories and stories — and they’re timeless in every way. My hope is that when she’s older, we can sit down together, go through the collection, and she can choose a piece that feels special to her — something she can truly cherish.’
For as much as she’s selling things right now, it doesn’t mean that new pieces — whether they be pre-loved or fresh from the runway —aren’t on Rosie’s radar. ‘Lately, I’ve started giving myself a monthly allowance — it’s really encouraged me to be more considered and intentional with what I buy,’ she relatedly offers. ‘I tend to shop more around the seasonal shifts, and I always try to invest in pieces that will stand the test of time and live well beyond trends.’ Well, how timely her sale is as we approach spring/summer for those that want to emulate not only her style but her entire approach.
With the 40 items available to buy at the end of the week, is Huntington-Whiteley having any regrets over the pieces she’s passing on? ‘I’ve always loved a minimal, classic dress — so I’d say the Bottega Veneta dress is a standout for me. It’s one of those forever pieces you can wear season after season. Style it with a classic heel and a handbag, and you’ll always feel effortlessly put together. If I were shopping the Closet Sale myself, I’d be quick to snap it up!’
