Getting Ready With Sabrina Elba For Schiaparelli Couture AW23/24

When it comes to fashion, Couture Week is it. Like capital letters, 'IT'. A dazzling display of true design mastery, Couture Fashion Week is the pinnacle of aspirational fashion. So, if you manage to nab a coveted seat on the FROW, you know you've made it. Comfortably taking hers at yesterday's much-anticipated Schiaparelli Couture AW23/24 show was Sabrina Elba. Activist, model and co-founder of skincare brand S'Able Labs alongside husband Idris Elba, the multi-hyphenate is fast becoming a fashion icon in her own right.

For her Schiaparelli couture moment, it was all about the outfit. 'Schiaparelli's AW23 show was a collection that resonated with my stylist Kim Daniels, she wanted to make sure we went with one of her fave looks, look 27, because she felt it maintained the whimsical side of Schiaparelli but was still super chic,' Elba tells ELLE UK. 'We were trying to go for a different silhouette to my usual looks. The strong shoulders and shapes of the outfit were super pleasing.'

Known for his signature surrealist looks, Schiaparelli designer Daniel Roseberry served up a couture collection commenting on the increasing use of AI in fashion and the importance of a human mind behind the designs. 'I loved that Daniel can express other artists' work , as the collection had work modelled after Freud, Klein, Matisse, but he still finds a way to make it uniquely his own through creations that capture our imaginations but also our hearts,' Elba continued.
