Tan France, beloved star of Netflix's Queer Eye and Next In Fashion, is renowned for changing people's wardrobes across the world with one simple styling trick – the French Tuck.

The French what?

Those who binge-watched the hit reality show will know all too well that the French Tuck is a way of tucking in a shirt at the very front while leaving the back loose, giving a front drape effect.

However, there's a new trick now taking celebrities and street style stars by storm at fashion week: the Paris Pull.

The Paris Pull is just as easy as France's tuck, which takes around two seconds to execute and casually 'adds polish' to your look, and is the fashion quick-fix that makes you, quite literally, look pulled-together, pronto.

So, what exactly is it and how do you pull it off?

The trick involves styling belts over blazers, as everyone from Rihanna to the Hadid sisters have been doing, and – you guessed it – pulling them tight.

The method recreates the wasp-waisted silhouette of Dior’s bar jacket.

TLDR: it's a shortcut to chic style, the French way.

'It's the easiest way to make the boxy oversized blazers we all bought into last season look new,' says Molly Haylor, ELLE's market and accessories editor.

'And the laziest way to look like you've put effort into your look. Whip a belt around your waist - on top of your jacket - and done.'

We're only a few days into the AW20 shows, but are already seeing belts over blazers at New York Fashion Week, on the streets and on the runways of Brock Collection, Monse, and the winner of 2019's CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, hotly-tipped newcomer Christopher John Rogers.

Be prepared to see the Paris Pull all over the streets of London, Milan, and uh... Paris, as the new season shows continue.

It literally takes two seconds to execute, meaning you might even get away with an extra 10 minutes in bed and still look slick.
