Days after Cody Simpson released a song all about his new beau Miley Cyrus, the pair took to Instagram for a joint live video.

Never one to shy away from speaking her mind, 26-year-old Cyrus took the opportunity to wax lyrical about her 22 year-old boyfriend (with whom she shares a matching tattoo) and also, to throw shade on her estranged husband, which we didn't see coming.

In the video, Cyrus appears to criticise 29-year-old Liam Hemsworth (who is reportedly now dating Maddison Brown).

Miley and her new beau, who have seemingly moved in together after making their romance public at the beginning of October, are currently in different countries - Cyrus being in the USA and Simpson in Australia - so decided to speak over the social media app.

With the help of a few cute filters, Cyrus praised her new Australian partner, saying that he is the only nice man she has ever met, not only obliquely referencing Hemsworth, who she has had a near-decade-long relationship with, but also her ex-girlfriend Kaitlin Carter, who she dated post-Hemsworth.

'There are good men out there, guys, don't give up,' the former Hannah Montana star revealed.

'You don't have to be gay, there are good people with d**ks out there, you've just got to find them. You've got to find a d**k that's not a d**k, you know.

'I always thought I had to be gay, because I thought all guys were evil, but it's not true. There are good people out there that just happen to have d**ks. I've only ever met one, and he's on this live.'

Well that's about as subtle as a sledgehammer...or should we say wrecking ball?
