When Gossip Girl launched in 2007, it also birthed a style icon in the form of Serena Van Der Woodsen.
Along with Leighton Meester's headband and tartan-clad Blair Waldorf, Serena - the ultimate Upper East Side girl-you-wanna-be portrayed by Blake Lively - arrived on screens wearing must-have trench coats, DVF glitter jumpsuits and red carpet appropriate dresses.
But here's a question for even the most die-hard Gossip Girl superfans... how much attention were you paying to Lively's on-screen wardrobe, really?

Perhaps not as much as you thought.
Over the weekend a TikTok account noticed a pretty major wardrobe malfunction while watching the hit show (as many have been re-watching during lockdown, we assume).
In episode four of season six, titled Portrait of Lady Alexander, Serena meets on-off boyfriend Dan Humphrey (aka Lonely Boy) in a restaurant wearing a classic Serena number - a hot pink bodycon dress, in which she looks fabulous of course.
However, on closer inspection, as Serena turns to leave the restaurant, fans noticed... grey tracksuit bottoms under her dress, drawstring and all.
ELLE UK sought to verify this so quickly turned on the episode, where we spotted the mishap for ourselves:
We're not sure what happened here. It's likely that Lively's bottom half wasn't supposed to be on set, perhaps she was cold in New York on that day of filming? Or just wanted to be cosy?
Lively has yet to respond to the revelation though as a noted enthusiast for an internet roasting and a recent sharer of a viral Gossip Girl meme, we will wait eagerly.
Recently, her husband Ryan Reynolds admitted that while he didn't watch Gossip Girl he 'drank it through my eyes' so, with that enthusiasm, we wonder if he noticed.
