Pretty much this exact time last week, we were reading reports about how "flirty" Jaden Smith and Sofia Richie had been on a day out at the beach with friends. Photos (via Mail Online) showed the pair and a group of pals enjoying a day at the beach in Malibu, and a source later told E! News that they were looking very cosy, apparently.

"They spent the afternoon playing on the beach together with friends. But Sofia and Jaden only had eyes for each other," the source said. "They swam in the water together and wrapped their arms around each other. They held hands as they went in and out of the water and then they pulled each other in for a hug."

The insider went on, "They were smiling at each other and very flirty the entire day. They seemed comfortable together."

Neither Sofia or Jaden commented on the rumours at the time, but Jaden appeared on Ryan Seacrest's iHeart Radio show on Friday and the host quizzed him about the claims.

Denying they're any more than mates, Jaden shared, "You know, I actually don’t look at the internet, so I didn’t see that.

"Me and Sofia have been friends for like 10 years. We’ve been going to the beach pretty consistently for 10 years too." Yep, Sofia and Jaden go all the way back and the pair even briefly dated when they were 14.

So that clears up that then!
