Wednesday 7 July was a momentous day in the world of national sport, as England reached the final of the Euros for only the second time in the history of the tournament... and beat opponents Denmark to win a place in the final of a major international competition for the first time since 1966.
And while, sure, you might have seen St George's Cross bunting adorning your garden, it seems few were more excited about the football match than heir to the throne, Prince Charles. Because the 72-year-old went all out for the occasion.
Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall invited the Band of the Coldstream Guards - of which there looked to be more than 30 members (although there are 54 when the band plays in full) - to come and play some rousing football anthems in the garden of their London residence, Clarence House ahead of the match.

Sadly, the Prince of Wales wasn't there to actually witness the magical music for himself, as he's currently away for a week of engagements with Camilla in Wales. But according to a royal source, 'Both Their Royal Highnesses will be closely following the outcome.'
Charles' eldest son Prince William is a mega football fan, and as President of the FA, he was in attendance at Wembley Stadium cheering on the players from the same box as former footballers David Beckham, Alex Scott and Paul Gascoigne.
Last week, for England's last 16 match against Germany, the Duke of Cambridge was seen at the stadium along with with Kate Middleton and their eldest son, Prince George, who was dressed in a cute little suit and tie for the occasion.
The seven-year-old future king was the only one of the Cambridge children to turn up to the England v Germany match, which was conveniently scheduled for an early 5pm kick off, and he was seen clapping with glee when the team won 2-0.
It's not entirely surprising that William and Kate chose to bring Prince George along, considering that he appears to have taken in his father's footsteps as a big football fan. George has been photographed many a time with a football at his feet, and dad and son were even photographed together in October 2019, attending a match between Aston Villa and Norwich City. It was George's first football match, and you could see the pure delight on his face.
Wonder if he was allowed to stay up in his PJs for yesterday's 8pm kick off?
