Euphoria star Maude Apatow has revealed just how committed she is to acting, sharing the pretty gross thing she once did to secure a role.
Season two of HBO's Euphoria has seen fans becoming thoroughly invested in Maude's character Lexi's relationship with Fez (Angus Cloud). And it turns out Maude is fairly into (kind of) Method acting, admitting that she once actually ripped out her own tooth in order to get a part. Ouch.
The actor was just nine years old at the time, so we're guessing she won't be recreating the same technique any time soon. Still, the story sounds like a whole new level of commitment to performing and, yep, it's not for the squeamish.

Telling the story as part of her appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Maude recalled what happened during the incident.
Speaking about how she got into acting at a young age, she explained, 'I started when I was really young. I remember I always really went for it, too. I did a Gold Rush day [at school, based on the historical mining of gold in the US], and I wanted to look like a miner, so I ripped out my tooth.'
Yep, ouch times 100.
Making things even more intense, Maude went on to reveal, 'It was not a loose tooth at all! It was not ready to go, and I just ripped it out... I was dedicated.'
The actor told viewers that she was nine years old at the time of the tooth-pulling. Host Seth Meyers then chimed in to joke, 'They say people should not go Method until they're like, 12 or 13,' in reference to the technique of Method acting, with Maude laughing in agreement.
Well, that's certainly one way to get into a role, right?
