Earlier today, Kate Middleton gave birth to royal baby number three - a baby boy - eight months after announcing her pregnancy.

Leaving the hospital at just around 16.00 BST, Prince William joked with photographers waiting outside the hospital that he would be 'back in a minute' before driving off in a Land Rover to pick up Princess Charlotte and Prince George and bring them back to introduce them to their newly-born sibling.

This afternoon, The Sun's royal correspondent announced that Prince George went to school as normal today but Princess Charlotte was at home at Kensington Palace.

The Duchess of Cambridge was taken by car before 6am this morning to the private Lindo wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London.

In a statement, Kensington Palace revealed: 'Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was admitted to St Mary's Hospital, Paddington, London, earlier this morning in the early stages of labour.

'The Duchess travelled by car from Kensington Palace to the Lindo Wing at St. Mary's Hospital with The Duke of Cambridge.'

However, when it comes to bonding with her siblings, we hope the new tot is a fan of pizza.

In March, Kate revealed her two eldest children can’t get enough of the Italian cuisine and making their own dough ‘because they can get their hands messy’.
