Whether you were in the crowds at this year’s Glastonbury Festival singing the lyrics to ‘Spinning Around’ or have spent the last two decades perfecting your robot impression to ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’, music fans across the globe will attest to the enduring, fun-loving power of Kylie Minogue’s music.

So, it comes as no surprise that the singer’s performance at the Worthy Farm music festival this year has been announced as the most-watched gig there to date.

The BBC reports that an average audience of 3.2 million people tuned into see the Australian-born star dominate the stage during the ‘legend slot’, beating the figures previously set by Ed Sheeran and Adele.

Sheeran was the previous record-holder of viewers’ ‘most popular Glastonbury performer’, whose headline slot on BBC Two attracted an average audience of 3.1m in 2017.

Fast forward a year and Adele's Pyramid Stage-dominating performances of the likes of ‘Hello’ and ‘Don’t You Remember’ was watched by 2 million viewers, reaching 3.7m during her unforgettable set.

During the closing moments of Kylie’s concert – which saw her burst into tears on several occasions as the crowd chanted her name – viewership reached a whopping 3.9 million as she closed her performance off with a rendition of ‘Dancing’ and ‘Spinning Around’.

Addressing the 175,000 fans in attendance at the outdoor music extravaganza, the singer opened up about having to pull out of a headline slot at the festival 14 years ago following her diagnosis with cancer.

‘In 2005, I was meant to be here,’ she told her fans. ‘Circumstances meant that I did not make it.

‘I wished things were different - but life is what it is,’ she said. ‘We're all here in this moment.’

Last week, Kylie was photographed with actor Nicole Kidman for the first time ever at the GQ Men of The Year Awards in London, debunking ridiculous conspiracy theories that they might be the same person (yes, people have suggested that over the years).
