During an interview on the Graham Norton Show on Friday, the Game of Thrones star and Oscar-winner Regina King opened up about their experience attending Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s 2019 Oscars Party in Los Angeles.
‘So, I didn’t expect to see them in the flesh,' stated Clarke. 'I wasn’t expecting that at all. I was just like “Oh my god, I’m invited! How has this happened? They let us in.’

‘She obviously looked at me like "Oh, I’d like to talk to you",' she continued. 'And I did not respond in the way that I was thinking she might have thought I’d respond.'
Clarke said she thinks the mother-of-three thought it might be ‘cool’ to chat to her but she responded to their encounter thinking ‘Oh my god!
‘Too many drinks in, started crying…it didn’t go well.’
The actress said her eyes welled up and she thought at the time ‘I can’t handle this, this is too intense.'
Clarke also lifted the veil on what it’s really like to attend a party hosted by Hollywood royalty.
‘It’s basically in a car park,’ the actress said of the party’s location. ‘Well, they power-wash it, and they cover it up and make it look wonderful.
‘They say, This is the last picture you’ll take. When you go down the stairs you’ll see a sign that says that. No phones, no social media, no nothing. Then you get in and you’re like, That’s why. It’s hallowed ground.’
Earlier this year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex met Beyoncé and Jay-Z during the London premiere of The Lion King.
During the celebrity-filled event, the women were seen embracing in a hug before discussing the royals’ newborn child, Archie.
