If she’s not defending her latest song lyrics, Selena Gomez is making sure the world knows she pledges her full allegiance to Taylor Swift despite showing support for Kim Kardashian West’s new shapewear line.
Swifties will be all too aware that the 29-year-old singer has been caught up in a long-term feud with the reality star and her husband, Kanye West, after a phone conversation between the trio went public in 2016.
At the time, the famous couple claimed Swift had given West permission to refer to him having sex with her in his song 'Famous'. Meanwhile Swift stated that the musician hadn’t informed he he was going to describe her as a 'b*tch' in the lyrics.

So, it came as a big surprise to both Swift and Gomez’s fans when the ‘Come And Get It’ singer recently shared a photograph of herself on her Instagram Story modelling a piece from Kardashian West’s SKIMS collection.
‘Legit, so freaking comfortable,’ the 27-year-old captioned her selfie, tagging the SKIMS brand.
However, Gomez soon deleted the photo of herself wearing the shapewear and instead posted a photograph of her with Swift on Tuesday night, reportedly after receiving backlash from the ‘You Need To Calm Down’ singer’s fans for seemingly supporting the beauty mogul.
‘My ride or die, I would die for this one,’ Gomez captioned her selfie with her famous friend.
‘Thank you for forever being by my side. You have taught me so much, walked through all of this with me, STAYED and you remind me to be a better human being. I'm on your side for life [sic].’
In September, Swift told Rolling Stone magazine how ‘the world didn’t understand the context and the events that led up to’ her phone call with West in 2016.
‘Because nothing ever just happens like that without some lead-up. Some events took place to cause me to be p*ssed off when [West] called me a b*tch,’ she added.
Swift continued, explaining that the call was not ‘just a singular event.
‘Basically, I got really sick of the dynamic between he and I. And that wasn’t just based on what happened on that phone call and with that song — it was kind of a chain reaction of things.’
Gomez’s recent Instagram post comes after Swift couldn’t help but gush about Gomez during an interview with Zane Lower for his Apple Music Beats 1 show, New Music Daily.
‘I'm so proud of her,’ the Nashville star said of Gomez. ‘She's been through so much. I've watched so much happen in her life.
‘She is such a revelation because now she's making her best stuff.’
Gomez later described Swift as ‘amazing’ to Lowe, adding: ‘She was frustrated when I was frustrated. She was sad when I was sad. But more than anything, my friends stood by my side. I think they visibly saw me in so much pain and they didn't want it for me, but they.’
