Months after giving birth to her third child, Blake Lively has done a pretty odd thing for a new mother with over 25 million Instagram followers and deleted all but one of her posts on the social media platform.

On Saturday, the 32-year-old shocked her fans when she deleted almost all of her Instagram content including images of her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and her best outfits including designs from the likes of Versace, Brandon Maxwell and Dior.

So, what post has she kept?

Well, it’s the trailer to her upcoming film The Rhythmn Section, out in cinemas on 31 January, starring Jude Law. The post was originally shared on 19 September.

This isn’t the first time Lively has used the rather unorthodox social media strategy to promote a new film.

Last May, the new mother deleted all of her Instagram posts to celebrate the release of her film A Simple Favour, which she starred in opposite Henry Golding and Anna Kendrick.

Following in the footsteps of her friend Taylor Swift - who, in 2017, deleted her entire Instagram history in the lead to the release of her album Reputation - Lively erased all signs of Instagram identity to celebrate the film's release.

Purging her followers list, the actress traded in the likes of designers Michael Kors and Lorraine Schwartz for real-life women who go by the name of her on-screen character, Emily Nelson.

The Rhythm Section is based on a book by the same name by Sterling K. Brown and explores the story of an international spy, Stephanie Patrick (played by Lively), who is on a journey to uncover the truth behind a plane crash that mysteriously killed her family.

While Lively might be taking a break from Instagram, on Sunday, singer Mariah Carey shared a photograph of herself and her two children, Monroe and Moroccan, standing alongside Reynolds and Lively.

The ‘All I Want For Christmas’ singer captioned the post: ‘Rocky snuck up on an unsuspecting couple wearing a Deadpool mask. Will they ever recover?’

In response, Reynolds commented: ‘Whoa. My vision board became a photo.’

Last week, the Deadpool actor share photographs on his Instagram Stories of the pair’s romantic night out at the Steven Page Trio concert at City Vineyard in TriBeCa.

‘Beautiful night with the Steven Page Trio,’ captioned the fan moment, with the five stars standing in front of the Hudson River.

In the snap, Lively can be seen wearing a long-sleeved off-white blouse and a black coat, layered with a patterned black scarf.

The couple are believed to have welcomed their third child earlier this summer and kept it a secret for a whopping three months from the public.

In October, US Weekly reported the couple had welcomed the new addition, a baby girl, to their family in late July, early August. The child’s date of birth is yet to be revealed.
