Update: Coachella Postpones Festival Due To Coronavirus Outbreak
Amid the numerous events being cancelled or postponed due to the Covid-19 outbreak, Coachella - one of the highest-profile music festivals in the world - has shared an update with fans.
On Tuesday, after days of speculation, Coachella confirmed that the two-date Palm Springs-based festival will be postponed over Coronavirus concerns.
In a statement, festival organisers said they are following the guidance from local health authorities and will now hold the festival - where the line-up was set to be headlined by Rage Against The Machine, Travis Scott and Frank Ocean - on October 9, 10, 11 and the following week of 16, 17, 18 rather than the originally scheduled dates of April 10-12 and April 17-19.

'While this decision comes at a time of universal uncertainty, we take the safety and health of our guests, staff and community very seriously,' the statement said. 'We urge everyone to follow the guidelines and protocols put forth by public health officials.'
Organisers stressed that ticket holders for the April dates will automatically get tickets for the October dates. Those who cannot make the October dates will be directed on how to obtain a refund.

We're only three days into 2020 and already there are things to be excited about. Case in point, the Coachella line-up.
The Californian festival is iconic for a multitude of reasons. There are the insane headliners that the two-week event attracts and the special performances that they put on specifically for the show: Beyoncé's Homecoming, Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg's TuPac hologram, Ariana Grande joined by N*Sync and Justin Bieber, to name but a few of the recent spectacles.
Then there are also the celebrity guest attendees - you know, the ones that make for amazing 'who wore what' internet features. Regulars include Kylie and Kendall Jenner, Emily Ratajkowski and Rihanna - the location's proximity to star-studded Los Angeles certainly helps with this one. Also, it's California in April, so the weather is pretty nice with minimal risk of a Glastonbury mud and wellies situation.

When is Coachella 2020?
Unlike most British festivals which run over one weekend, Coachella repeats itself over two consecutive weekends with the same headliners (for anyone who got confused by Beyoncé's Homecoming documentary where she switches from pink to yellow this should clarify matters).
Coachella was originally scheduled to place on April 10-12 and April 17-19 however with the postponement due to the Coronavirus update, the new dates are October 9th-11th and October 16th-18th.
Coachella 2020 line-up
The line-up was announced on January 3rd and people were pretty excited. The three main headliners are:
Friday: Rage Against The Machine
Saturday: Travis Scott
Sunday: Frank Ocean
That last headliner is particularly exciting given that the crooner rarely performs at festivals or conducts tours and has been off the grid for a while.
Other notable artists performing across the two weekends include Lana Del Rey, Calvin Harris, Megan Thee Stallion, Brockhampton, Lewis Capaldi, Thom Yorke, Lil Nas X, FKA Twigs and Lil Uzi Vert.

How to get Coachella tickets:
Well, the first weekend is already sold out. However, all hope is not lost. You can now register for the pre-sale for Weekend two, which then starts on Monday January 6 at 12pm PT (8pm GMT).
According to Coachella's website, 'any remaining inventory will go on sale to the public at 3pm PT [11pm GMT]' on January 6.
You buy tickets from the official Coachella website where you will be then directed to the Festival Ticketing website to purchase.
Coachella has a newsletter to keep up to date with ticketing info and following the festival's social media pages is also advised.
Where is Coachella?
Indio, California in the desert, just beyond Palm Springs. According to Google Maps, it's roughly a two hour 15 minute drive from Los Angeles International (LAX) airport.
