Gigi Hadid has clarified that she has not intentionally been ‘disguising’ her growing pregnancy bump through her choice of clothing.

During an Instagram Live last week, the 25-year-old answered a question relating to her not showing much of a ‘tummy’ during her pregnancy.

‘This angle and the really baggy jumpsuit make for an optical illusion. From the side it's a different story!’ she replied.

Following these quotes being reported, Hadid took to Twitter over the weekend to shut down any claims or speculation that she was intentionally 'disguising' her bump.

‘Disguise ....,’ she said in a Tweet. ‘I said in a baggy jumpsuit the front and side views are visually different stories—not that that was intentional or I was trying to hide anything.

‘Will be proud and happy to share "insight" when I feel like it, thanks.

‘For now I am proudly experiencing and sharing this time with my family and loved ones.’

The news comes days after she shared a photograph of herself starring in the new Chanel campaign, showing off her toned midriff.

‘Have been waiting since December to share this dream-come-true!!!’ an excerpt of her caption reads. It is unknown whether she was pregnant at the time of the photoshoot.

In May, the supermodel confirmed rumours that she is expecting her first child with her boyfriend, Zayn Malik.

The Californian confirmed the news – which had been circulating the Internet for over a week at the time – during an appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show.

‘Obviously, we wished we could have announced it on our own terms but we're very excited and happy and grateful for everyone's well wishes and support,’ she told the show’s host.

‘Especially during this time... it's a nice silver lining to be able to be home and be together and really experience it day by day.’

Hadid's due date is currently unknown but several news outlets speculate that it could be in September.

In February, the model – who is believed to be staying at her mother Yolanda Hadid’s home in Pennsylvania during lockdown – spoke about her desire to start her own family in the future.

‘I think that as I get older... well one day I'll start a family and I don't know if I will always be modelling,’ she told i-D magazine. ‘I love the creative side of fashion, it's so fulfilling. The people I work with make me so happy, I'm so lucky to be around them. But who knows? Maybe I'll take up full time cooking!’
