It’s hard to believe it’s been a whole year since Jennifer Lopez recreated one of her most famous fashion moments to date.

Last September, the mother-of-two stunned onlookers at the SS20 Versace runway show during Milan Fashion Week by closing the event wearing an updated version of the plunging, green tropical-print gown she first wore to the 2000 Grammy Awards.

A year later, Lopez has decided to mark the occasion by posting a behind-the-scenes video showing several stages that went into the making of that now iconic runway moment.

‘Throwback to this unforgettable catwalk one year ago!’ she captioned the video, shared on Sunday on Instagram.

The clip sees Lopez posing in the backless dress, the tropical-print fabric being cut and pinned and having the Hustlers star having her make-up touched up moments before hitting the catwalk.

At one point, she is seen walking through a set of doors at the show and strutting down the catwalk while her song ‘If You Had My Love’ plays over the video.

‘ICONIC AF!!!!!!! Are you trying to kill us⁉️’ one enthusiastic fan commented on the post.

‘We are so proud of you mama,’ another added.

One fan wrote: ‘Legendary queen.’

ELLE UK Editor-in-Chief Farrah Storr, was sat front row at the catwalk show and has fond memories of Lopez’s fashion moment.

'The entire front row was giddy with excitement when J.Lo appeared. And despite the fact that several of the world's greatest super models had just walked down that very same catwalk , it was J.Lo who stormed it better than anyone else,’ she recalled at the time.

After the 51-year-old actress and singer had walked the full length of the catwalk, she was joined by Italian fashion designer and chief creative officer of Versace, Donatella Versace.

In an interview with Vanity Fair earlier this year, Lopez opened up about how she felt the first time she wore the dress and how the SS20 catwalk moment came about.

‘The first time I wore it, I actually didn’t have another dress,’ she revealed.

‘Usually I have choices. It was a last-minute thing that caused a sensation that was unexpected. The second time was very planned-out.

'It started at the Met ball. Donatella said, “You know, this year is the 20th anniversary of the jungle dress,” and I said no, I didn’t. And she goes, “I think I’m going to do a whole show about it. Would you come?” And I said, “Of course. Just call me.”

‘You know, it’s all timing—schedules and stuff. And then she wound up calling and said, “I want you to walk at the end, and I want you to come out in the dress.” “The same dress?” “The same dress. We’ll make a new one for you.”

Lopez described the runway experience as ‘empowering’.

‘Twenty years had gone by, and I think for women, knowing you can put on a dress 20 years later—it resonated. It was like, “Yes, you know, life is not over at 20!”’
