Halle Berry is currently loved up with her partner Van Hunt. The pair seem seriously into each other, if PDA-filled lunches in L.A. are anything to go by, or the fact that they admitted to having held a 'commitment ceremony' recently.

We're thrilled that she seems to be so happy.

However, it hasn't all been plain sailing in the romance department for the 55-year-old Oscar-winner. Previously to her relationship with Hunt, the Monster's Ball actor had been married three times.

Her most recent ex-husband is French film actor Olivier Martinez, who she divorced in 2016, but before that, she was married to RnB soul singer Eric Benét (from 2001 to 2005) and baseball player David Justice (from 1993 to 1997).

And, as she pointed out to Ellen DeGeneres during an appearance on her show, all three of her divorces could've been prevented had DeGeneres gotten involved in her love life sooner.

This comes after the Bruised star learned that both she and her musician partner Hunt had appeared on DeGeneres' show in 2004.

Their individual appearances on the first season of the comedian's hit show were just a month apart – Hunt's in April and Berry's in May – a realisation that led Berry to think, if only DeGeneres had scheduled them for the same night, she could have saved her from three divorces.

'We've talked about this, he and I, actually, a few days ago, when I knew I was coming here,' Berry explained.

'I said, "I was on her first season," and he goes, "So was I!" I go, "You mean you could've found me 20 years and saved me all this misery?"' Halle proclaimed.

After DeGeneres expressed her amazement, Berry went on to say: 'How come you didn't arrange that Ellen?'

DeGeneres followed up with: 'You should've been on the same show.'

During the interview, she also mentioned her eight-year-old son Maceo, whom she shares with former husband Martinez, is doing 'fantastic' but can't stop 'cursing'.

Berry spoke about her failed marriages during a Q&A session at the 2017 City Summit and Gala.

At the time, the mother-of-two said: 'I have learned to deal with three failed marriages, which has not been easy, especially when there’s children involved,' per Entertainment Tonight.

She continued: '[As] women, we go into marriage thinking it's going to last forever and that this is our prince on a shiny horse. That's what fairy tales taught me as a kid … and I'm kind of anti-fairy tales today.

'But we go in there with that hope, so when it falls apart it feels like a huge failure and a huge disappointment.

'I've often felt guilty and responsible. I've suffered a lot of pain and anguish.'

'In every one of those situations, as hard -- and sometimes embarrassing -- as it was, I learned so much about myself.'

Berry is also a mum to her and model Gabriel Aubry's 13-year-old daughter Nahla.

Prior to her relationship with Hunt becoming public knowledge, she discussed her contentment with raising two children.

'I’ve learned a lot being with my children,' she said via and Instagram live, per the Daily Mail.

'They are the best company for me right now.'

She continued: 'I’m going to slow my roll, I’m going to take a minute and I’m going to spent time with me.'
