Fans of Bonnie Garmus’s best-selling novel, Lessons In Chemistry, rejoice! Apple TV+ has finally released details of when we can expect its adaptation of the story to hit the small screen — and it’ll land just in time for autumn.

Brie Larson will star as the story’s protagonist, scientist Elizabeth Zott, who finds herself challenging the patriarchal 1950s society she lives in. Academy Award-winner and Room star Larson will also executive produce the series.

According to the show’s official synopsis, the series is ‘Set in the early 1950s’ and ‘Follows Elizabeth Zott, whose dream of being a scientist is put on hold in a society deeming that women belong in the domestic sphere, not the professional one. When Elizabeth finds herself pregnant, alone and fired from her lab, she musters the ingenuity only a single mother has. She accepts a job as a host on a TV cooking show, and sets out to teach a nation of overlooked housewives – and the men who are suddenly listening – a lot more than recipes … all the while craving a return to her true love: science.’
