Daisy Edgar-Jones may well be entering her Disney princess era, if recent rumours are to be believed.

Variety reported on October 24 that Thor star Chris Hemsworth was being lined up for the titular role of Prince Charming in the upcoming Disney film Prince Charming, while The InSneider reported that Edgar-Jones is Disney's favoured choice to play the princess in the film.

While the exact plot of Prince Charming is under wraps, it was reported by Variety on October 17 that Disney had tapped Wonka director Paul King to direct it.

In other Disney fairy tales, Prince Charming is often a side part rather than the leading role and though he was originally the love interest of Cinderella, it's believed that this project will not be specifically linked to the curfew-breaking princess.

The rumblings came after the news was announced on September 20 that Edgar-Jones will be following in her Normal People co-star Paul Mescal's shoes and is set to star in a new West End adaptation of Tennessee Williams' Cat on a Hot Tin Roof at London’s Almeida theatre.

The play, which opens on 10 December 2024 and runs until 1 February, will mark Edgar-Jones' return to the theatre, where she starred in Albion in 2020.

In the four years since making her West End debut, London-born Edgar-Jones has established a glitteringly career for herself that includes leading roles in Twisters and On Swift Horses, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this year. Speaking at the event in the Ontarian capital, Edgar-Jones confirmed that her chemistry with Jacob Elordi, her co-star in 1950s drama On Swift Horses, came easy. 'It's not hard to make chemistry with Jacob,' she told reporters of the Saltburn actor, 'because he's just so charismatic.'
