In her ELLE UK interview, which happened six days after President Trump's re-election in November, our February cover star Lady Gaga has spoken of her dismay and disappointment at the result of the presidential race.

The multi-hyphenate, who endorsed Kamala Harris in 2024 and performed at President Biden's inauguration in 2021 which she has previously called the 'proudest moment' of her life, touched on how 'devastating' the result will have been for many marginalised groups who President Trump's 'anti-woke' agenda is targeting.

'The main thing is I have so much compassion and love for so many people that are afraid today. I want to acknowledge I’m a very blessed person and I feel really grateful for so much in my life every day. I know for a lot of people this election was devastating for their existence and so community is going to be the number one thing. This just reminds me that we need each other and supporting each other is important. I am one of many people that supports [the LGBTQIA+ and other marginalised] communities. And we're not going down without a fight. We will stick together. It's going to be hard but I'm up for it. We're up for it. And I just want everyone to know how deeply they're loved and not invisible,' Gaga said.

The Grammy award-winner, whose seventh studio album Mayhem will be released in February, also admitted how 'bizarre' it was that such deftly-named album could have been named before President Trump's re-election. 'What’s bizarre is I did not write this album thinking that this would happen,' she said. 'I prayed it would not. But here we are.'
