No stranger to a stand-out pregnancy reveal, Rihanna confirmed the long-standing rumours at last night's Met Gala that she is, indeed, expecting her third child.

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky revealed the news of their third child on the way to the 2025 Met Gala, where Rocky is serving as a co-chair this year. Rihanna was photographed on the streets of New York with a visible baby bump, before she made her red carpet appearance in a suitably business-forward Marc Jacobs skirt-suit, which came complete with a polka dot tie, a cropped tuxedo jacket and a below-the-bump skirt.

In case there was any lingering speculation too, Rocky confirmed the rumours on the red carpet. 'It feels amazing, you know,' he told reporters who congratulated him, according to AP. 'It’s time that we show the people what we was cooking up. And I’m glad everybody’s happy for us ’cause we definitely happy, you know.'

Rihanna, who is already mother to RZA and Riot, and her partner weren't actively planning to start a family when they became pregnant with their first child, although the 'Umbrella' singer did confess to Vogue that the two were 'certainly not planning against it' either.

'I always thought it would be marriage first, then a baby, but who the f*** says it has to be that way,' she told the outlet in April 2022. 'I'm certainly not gonna let that get in the way of me being a mum.'

The theme of this year's event was 'Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,' which fundraised for The Costume Institute and put the spotlight on its spring 2025 exhibition of the same name. According to exhibition's curator, Andrew Bolton, the exhibit, which is inspired by guest curator Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity, explores 'the Black dandy as both a concept and an identity signifier.'
