And Just Like That... evangelists, listen up — any news that Kim Cattrall may once again reprise her role as Samantha Jones in the third season of the Sex and the City reboot has been debunked by Sarah Jessica Parker herself.
Asked in an interview with ELLE UK whether fans could expect to see another cameo from their favourite sexually liberated doyenne, Parker said, 'No, no, I don't think so. Not that we [her and Michael Patrick King] have ever discussed.'

Parker's confirmation comes after it was widely reported that, following the success of her cameo in the second season, Cattrall had signed on to reprise her role of Samantha Jones for the sequel's third outing.
'Since they’ve paved the way for Samantha to come back, it’s assumed that they’ve done a deal with Kim and they’re just waiting for the right time to announce it,' a source told Life & Style on July 10, 2024. 'The word is that she’ll get to do all her scenes in London. They’ll be bending over backwards to pay her an absolute fortune, and it’s all on her terms because she’s so central to the franchise.'
It was reported, while the third season was filming in and around New York City in the summer of 2024, that while relations between Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker, who plays AJLT's protagonist, Carrie Bradshaw, were allegedly strained it was understood that the pair were willing to make it work for the sake of the show.
'It’s still open as to whether she’ll even film any scenes with the other women, but certainly she doesn’t want to break bread with them off camera and pretend like nothing ever happened,' the insider explained. 'For Sarah, her attitude stinks, and she really thinks Kim needs to get a grip and let it go. If she’s making this much money, why is she still holding grudges? She doesn’t get it and doesn’t like it and it’s just going to lead to more tension.'
And Just Like That... season 3 coming to Sky and NOW on 30 May.
