There's nothing quite like a good series making its way back to our screens after years of waiting for a new season to drop. And for those that are deep in the crime thriller genre, you'll know that such was the case on July 20 when ITV released the second season of Karen Pirie.

Once again, Pirie's (Lauren Lyle) back on the scene, and this season has got everything that we want in a murder mystery - a strong female lead, a complex cold case that isn't quite what it seems, and like fan-favourite Dept. Following the first season which say Karen being tasked with the responsibility of solving a historic murder which was at the centre of a crime podcast, the fearless detective is now turning her focus to a new case, after being promoted to Detective Inspector.
