25 Of The Most Powerful Photos From The Brett Kavanaugh Protests
Thousands, including Amy Schumer and Emily Ratajkowski, were protesting against Donald Trump's Supreme Court judge nominee

Thousands of women have taken to the streets of Washington DC and other US cities to protest against the Supreme Court appointment of Brett Kavanaugh.
Kavanaugh, who has been nominated for the lifetime role in America's highest court by Donald Trump, has been accused of sexual assault by multiple women. Last week, one of his accusers, Professor Christine Blasey Ford, gave evidence to the US Senate Judiciary Committee claiming he had assaulted her when they were at high school. Kavanaugh then appeared in front of the committee, denying the allegations in an angry testimony.
The protests took place the day before the Senate votes on whether Kavanaugh should be appointed a Supreme Court judge - which would see him become one of nine people who are tasked with voting on some of the most important and divisive moral issues in the country including abortion and same-sex marriage. After the Senate vote, there is expected to be a final vote over the weekend.
On Thursday, protestors chanted on Capitol Hill and staged a sit-in at a Senate office building. Among the protesters were Amy Schumer and Emily Ratajkowski - who were reportedly detained along with other activists.
