If you’ve always wanted to wake up overlooking St Pancras station and relive your Harry Potter dreams, then a night’s stay in The Standard’s Queen of Queens room is a must this New Year’s Eve.
Housed in the former Camden Town Hall Annex and located within walking distance to Coal Drops Yard and the British Library, this ten storey building (which you access via a red pill-shaped lift on the exterior of the hotel) opened in September and mixes 1970s décor and modern interiors with perfection.
On New Year’s Eve, live jazz, dinner, champagne at midnight and firework viewing from the roof will be on offer to guests, helping them see in the New Year right. Titanic Hotel Liverpool
Located in what was the North Warehouse, which was built in 1846, this chic four star hotel is set within a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the city’s most iconic areas, Stanley Dock. The famous dock was one of the largest in the world. With a subterranean health club with foot baths, a swimming pool, a thermal suite and a fitness centre, the hotel is a gem in the northern city.
On New Year’s Eve, the venue will be hosting its White Star Gala Dinner during which guests will be invited to enjoy prosecco and canapés on arrival and enjoy a delicious three course gala dinner, followed by an amazing night of live music from The Toni James Band and dancing. Just before the clock strikes 12, you’ll then be ushered to the breathtaking dockside with a glass of Laurent-Perrier and treated to beautiful firework display to toast the New Year.

The Ned
Finding a five star hotel in London isn’t exactly hard but booking one that boasts 10 restaurants, six private event spaces, a spa and gym and is a celebrity favourite in the heart of the city is. A short 20-minute walk from Bowness Pier and The Village Inn pub sits this five star haven. Located in Windermere in the heart of the Lake District, Linthwaite House is a contemporary country house set in 14 acres with two row boats available on the tarn (small lake) for guests to use to explore the surrounding area.
In Bowness-on-Windermere, it is customary for people to gather by the jetty on the shore to watch the firework displays while those in Keswick (a 45-minute drive away) can be seen in front of the clock tower in the town centre to countdown to midnight. Just remember to wrap up warm!
