Las Vegas has long been associated with spontaneous, quick, no fuss and frills weddings.
You can literally drive-through and have a wedding in Nevada city or turn up in the middle of the night having decided a sudden ceremony is what your heart desires.
The stereotype of the Vegas wedding often involves alcohol, one or two witnesses (who may or may not be known to the couple) and no bridal gowns or grooms in suits - more of a jeans and sweats vibe. Think Ross and Rachel in Friends.
But, that is not what Vegas weddings are all about. In this modern day, particularly with Coronavirus placing restrictions on weddings, the quick and casual ceremony is an ideal way for a celebrity couple to sort the legal bit of a wedding without a huge song and dance, and the attention that comes with it.
The most recent celebrity to do this was Lily Allen, who tied the knot with David Harbour at an intimate ceremony this week. But here's who walked down those Vegas Chapel aisles before her...

The couple confirmed they had married in font of an Elvis Presley impersonator and Allen's two daughters Marnie and Ethel this week. Wearing a white Dior mini dress, Allen celebrated her new marriage with an In-N-Out burger following the ceremony.
Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas
Before heading to the south of France for a lavish ceremony in a Chateau, Sophie and Joe did the legal bit at a Chapel in Vegas (again in front of an Elvis impersonator) immediately after the Billboard awards in February, 2019. Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton
The former couple eloped to Las Vegas and married in a Chapel in 2000, with Jolie wearing jeans and Thornton in a cap. The couple divorced two years later.
Britney Spears and Jason Alexander
In 2004, a 22-year-old Spears' decision to marry her childhood friend Alexander while in Las Vegas made front page news across the world. Deciding their union was a mistake, their marriage was notoriously annulled after 55 hours.
Bruce Willis and Demi Moore
Willis and Moore married in a suite at Las Vegas' Golden Nugget hotel in 1987, three months after they started dating. They were married by the owner of the Little White Wedding Chapel, according to Entertainment Weekly.
The couple were married for 11 years and had three daughters, Rumer, Scout and Tallulah together. They remain close friends to this day even recently spending some of the Covid-19 quarantine together.
Richard Gere and Cindy Crawford
The former couple married in 1991. When Gere had a single night's break from filming, he flew Crawford and a couple of friends to Vegas via private jet. The couple then married at chapel, The Church of the West, with Crawford walking down the aisle in a navy Armani suit according to CR Fashion Book.
The couple divorced four years later. Crawford married Rande Gerber in 1998 and has two children Presley and lookalike model daughter Kaia Gerber.
Carmen Electra and Dennis Rodman
Fans of The Last Dance will remember the nostalgic series revisiting the moment the Chicago Bulls player married model Electra in Vegas in 1998. Rodman attempted to annul their marriage nine days later, they reconciled but in the end divorced for real a few months after that.
Elvis and Priscilla Presley
It was only fitting that the 'Viva Las Vegas' singer married in Sin City. The rock n' roll legend married Priscilla at the Aladdin hotel and casino in 1967. The couple divorced in 1973.
Mia Goth and Shia LaBeouf
The couple's ceremony was a source of confusion for some, after they appeared to marry at a chapel with an Elvis impersonator in 2016, though this was later thrown into doubt when local officials said the couple had not legally married but had a commitment ceremony.
